Licensed Mental Health Counselor; Registered Art Therapist

Michelle works with children, adolescents and adults to increase self-awareness, gain new perspectives and identify personal strengths to have a more meaningful life experience. She practices from a collaborative, solution-focused perspective and utilizes evidenced-based treatment approaches including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Michelle has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, anger and stress management, grief/loss, self-image and self-esteem issues, self-harming behaviors, and life transitions. She uses a warm, directive, and authentic approach to create a safe, supportive environment that invites clients to gain insight and achieve balance.

In addition to being a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Michelle is a Registered Art Therapist. She has specialized training in using the creative process to explore the conscious and unconscious, discovering feelings and experiences where there are no words. With the focus being on the process and materials, art therapy does not require artistic skill or experience. Using stories, imagery and symbols, clients have the opportunity to discover uncharted pathways to wellness, recovery and change.

Michelle maintains professional memberships with the American Psychological Association, American Counseling Association, and American Art Therapy Association to ensure continued growth and dedication to providing quality care.

Michelle is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Indiana (LMHC# 39003677A) as well as a Registered Art Therapist (ATCB 18-132) and holds a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Saint Mary of the Woods College.

Michelle works out of our Castleton location.
